About Us
Titanium is an exceptional material to create bicycles and parts of very
high quality. To ensure your safety, comfort and pleasure during long
years of bicycle ownership, Le Sommet du VELO has made titanium its
material of choice.
Our philosophy is centered around personalizing the products we offer.
We think that every bicycle must be uniquely and exclusively crafted for
its owner. This is why each one of our bicycles will always be
distinctive. By respecting your particular physiognomy, your bicycle
will be conceived for you, according to your specifications and
measurements.
In 2002, SDV started modestly as an online shop. Founder Christian
Pouliot’s ambition however, was not to be limited to this simple idea.
Gradually, the shop conceived the idea of developing a quality product
under the imprimatur, “Le Sommet du VELO” (SDV). After a considerable
period of research, SDV decided to concentrate its build efforts on
titanium. In 2006, following a two-year testing period on a first
prototype, Christian Pouliot decided that it was time to put his vision
into production. He joined another bicycle “maniac”, friendly cyclist
and close neighbor, Christian Lemelin, to launch a first generation road
bike, the SDV Ti.
Christian Pouliot, 28 years old, as strong on the road as on the
mountain and Christian Lemelin, 57 years old, an untiring cyclist who
largely contributed to the development of the cycle network of the
greater Quebec area (Jacques-Cartier/Portneuf, regional board member of
the Green Road), now offer you the chance to ride an awesome titanium bike.
